Leonard Cheshire Workability
Workability uses a scheme in matching people with individuals offering support for disabled people trying to access training and employment. They work in partnership with commercial, volentary and public sector organisations to provide computer equipment for adults in their homes; training in new skills; and to help in the job search process.
Leukaemia Research Fund
The Fund publishes a series of booklets and leaflets providing information on leukaemia and related diseases. These are available free of charge.
Limbless Association
To promote the general welfare and rehabilitation of people of all ages without limbs through amputation or otherwise.
Provides advice and information to people born without limbs or who have had an amputation.
Promotes Rehabilitation through a home / hospital visiting service.
Membership and a quarterly newsletter.
Listening Books
A tape player on loan and an unlimited supply of full length talking books by post is offered to anyone unable to read because of illness, disability or a learning difficulty such as dyslexia. People with a visual impairment are referred on to the Royal National Institute for the Blind. Headsets and other devices are available and there are more than 3,500 titles for both adults and children. Subscription o50 per year.
Lymphoedema Support Network
Products support for patients with Lymphoedema and provides information about Lymphoedema and its treatment.
Lymphoma Association
Provides information and emotional support for lymphoma patients and their families. Literature, a quarterly newsletter and videos available.
