KIDS
To work in partnership with parents or carers to enable children with special needs, to be children first, to develop skills and abilities and to fulfil their hopes and aspirations. To provide local services to families with children who have special needs based on the following:-
-children and their families should have access to a full range of high-quality services offering choice and diversity ;
-families should share equally in decision making about about all aspects of these services;
-that statutory services and voluntary agencies should work closely together to maximise and extend the opportunities available to children and their families.
Kidsactive - Play and opportunity for disabled children
Formally known as HAPA -Adventure play for Children with Disabilities and Special Needs.
A national organisation which runs an information service offering advice, information and resources to individuals and organisations interested in play for children with disabilities and special educational needs, and to all groups setting up adventure playgrounds for disabled children and children with special needs. Runs six adventure playgrounds in the London area.
Kings Fund (King Edwards Hospital Fund for London)
An independent health charity whose goal is to support the health and care of the people of London. It aims to achieve this by influencing health policy and stimulating good practice in service provision. It's work is based on evidence of need and a committment to the values and social justice and public service.
Klinefelters Syndrome Association
Aims to preserve and protect the health and promote the welfare of people affected by Klinefelter's Syndrome and related syndromes. puts in contact adults and parents of children with KS. Holds an annual conference. Publishes a newsletter four times a year.
