Hearing Concern
Formally known as the British Association of the Hard of Hearing. This organisation represents the interests of the UK's 8.4 million hearing impaired people. It campaigns to raise public awareness of the needs and rights of hearing impaired people. Advice and information can be provided to individuals, professionals and other organisations. It supports social events nationwide for people of all ages and produces a quarterly magazine called, 'Hearing Concern'. It co-ordinates the Sympathetic Hearing Scheme which carries out training for service providers, promotes the use of the scheme card amongst hearing impaired people and encourages clear communication.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
To provide trained dogs to assist the profoundly deaf by alerting them to specific sounds-doorbell,telephones,smoke alarms etc..using a paw to "touch" before either leading to the sound or lying down to indicate danger.They also provide companionship,restore confidence and feelings of security.

Heartline Association
To provide information, contact and support for families who have children with congenital heart conditions. Main concern is the home environment, education and future employment of children with heart complaints.

Hemi-Help
Formed in 1990 by a group of parents, the organisation aims to raise awareness of the condition and to provide information and support for children and young people with hemiplegia, and their families. A telephone helpline is available Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm; they produce fact sheets, leaflets, a members newsletter and a video by children for children. They run workshops and organise sports and activities. Free membership to families.

Holiday Care Service
Organisation which provides information and support for disabled people who wish to take a holiday. Service provides: information on sources of holiday funding for disabled people on a low income; information on accessible accommodation nationally and internationally; a range of publications related to holidays; information on accessible visitor attractions and transport; a reservation service for accommodation, including activity holidays and respite care holidays.

Hyperactive Childrens Support Group
Office hours 10am-1pm. To help and support hyperactive children and their families; and to provide ideas to overcome their disability. They can provide an introductory information pack for parents and professionals. Membership is available which includes a handbook and 3 journals a year. Many of the children diagnosed as having ADHD can also be supported. For information, a large SAE is required.
